The very specific task required of Kons was a 3D racket reveal for an upcoming video advertisement for the Yonex Ezone tennis racket. The team had assembled a video from live-action footage and designed the look of the Ezone racket.
The task at hand was coming up with an animation to reveal the racket.

The turn-around time was one evening and a convincing yet inexpensive reveal was achieved.

Behind the Scenes

Storyboards were produced to show a few options for concepts that tell the client story.

Styleframes were used to explore brand elements to drive the Motion Graphics.

An animatic was produced to determin timing and pacing.

There was some light RnD involved in order to come to the final solution for this reveal. The geometry was fairly heavy and the particle simulation was even heavier. The timeline was one evening.

A lightweight and easily adjustable system was required for an approachable solution. The result was a quick tech reveal using a combination of effectors with a single linear falloff to easily drive the whole animation.

The animation was passed back to the team for rendering compositing and editing into the final spot.
