This was a job with a quick turnaround that had to show a city with a propagating tech field connecting together the many technologies in a city through 5G. The connections of certain elements were directed by the brief. Also, there had to be additional detail, to show a tech feel to the city.

An acceptable 3D camera track was produced for the tricky shot. Then Kons got to work figuring out a good solution for an animated tech overlay to the enviornment.

Behind the Scenes

Storyboards were produced to show a few options for concepts that tell the client story.

Styleframes were used to explore brand elements to drive the Motion Graphics.

An animatic was produced to determin timing and pacing.

Figuring out the connection points in the shot was fairly straight forward by applying 2D trackers to objects and connecting the dots. When it came time to simulate 3D geometry it was time to use the Cinema 4D camera tracker.

After he solved for the camera for this shot Kons  was able to freely build out and fill in the rest of the tech network on the enviornment.
